You can't step into the Same River twice...

I love this saying. For as the river flows, we know it never is the same river we have walked in before. Things change and resistance to the change is wasted energy. So how do we let go and allow for the new thing to come to us in right time?

Besides meditating and prayer, what are other tools you have used to release your need to control an outcome?

and what advice can you share with others who seek to make things happen that may not be aligned with the souls higher purpose?

Hey Shah!
thanks for weighing in here...yes, many people judge what we may be interested in as "odd" or "woo woo" but everyone has some connection to spirit and we all connect in differing ways...to me, that is the beauty of spirituality!

Allowing is the key to our experience..i have allowed and found no movement, and have let go and eventually made some progress..although it seems like much of the time it is waiting...and then when it seems right the river flows...

Thanks for sharing...it is in the share that we can learn..

love,
Aley

I think one way or the other - willingly or not - we are flowing with the river. We can look back and wish we were there; or sideways, wanting to hold on to the shore. Then we realize that we are on a boat, and the oars are in our hands.

To do that, I use breathing, "right thought"...the Gita helps a lot in this. "To action alone thou hast the right; not to the fruit thereof."

And the sentence that chanted itself in my head through college years: "Thy will, not mine, be done."

There is something so much better in store for me, I always think, than what I could dream; that I'd rather enjoy what's happening than resist it.

Thanks for bringing up the Gita. I love reading the Gita as I also love reading The Upanishads. Yes, Deepak Chopra talkes about this in his work: 7 Spiritual Laws of Success...a wonderful book and movie!

Thanks for posting here Meenakshi!
