dark night of the new moon; when the moon shows her full face to the
sun and the dark face to us, is a time of renewal, seeing the shadows
in our life, and shining our inner light on them.

There are times that the moon shows her face to us, and we call it the full moon. There are other times when her face is fully to the sun, and this time of renewal, when she cannot be seen by us, is the New Moon.
