Profile Information

Hometown:
In Wyoming.
Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
Well, okay. I'll fill you all in soon.
Favorite Music:
I love both metal and trance - these are a few of my favorite things: Opeth, Therion, Katatonia, Anathema, Agalloch, Paradise Lost, Kamelot, The Gathering, Theatre of Tragedy, Nevermore, Finntroll, Kalmah, Gojira, HIM, Ministry of Sound, Chicane, The Thrillseekers, Veracocha (even though they only ever made one song - Carte Blanche - yeah, it's really cool). I also dig Alanis. And trippy atmospheric stuff, catchy bass lines, and anything that makes me feel like I'm flying.
Favorite Books
The classics in all their marvelous shapes and forms, Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials, Harry Potter, Brandon Sanderson's awesome fantasies and Cory Doctorow's weirdness, most anything in graphic novel form, Holly Black's AWESOME work, and generally stuff aimed for a young and imaginative audience
Favorite Movies
The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Matrix (the first one), Pitch Black, Willow, Legend, Labyrinth, Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Last Mimzy, Arthur and the Invisibles, Stardust, Final Fantasy VII, What Dreams May Come, Pan's Labyrinth, Spiderwick Chronicles
Favorite TV Shows:
Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist, Loveless, Ergo Proxy, Tenchi Muyo. And other animated stuff. Because it's cool. And I like it.

A little bit about me

I'm a writer. And lots of other things too, but mainly that. I'm working on a sci-fi/fantasy novel called Star Crossed - it takes place in a bleak distant future and is about twisted perceptions of love and loyalty, fate, manipulation, desperation and a little immortality thrown in there.

I'm happily married to Dave, who is sexy and funny and wonderfully supportive of my many eccentricities. He's away in Scotland waiting for a green card back into the states, so we're both waiting patiently to be together again.

I'm at sort of an in-between stage in life. I've tried and moved away from quite a few things lately, but right now I'm working at a restaurant and going to college for English and web design.

I take a lot of pride in not labeling or limiting myself in what I can do. Spiritually, I'm comfortable with not knowing all the answers and just taking it one day at a time.

For fun...(well, it's all fun!)...I'm a casual fan of gaming, anime, and manga. I love fan art and cosplay at least when other people are doing it. :)

I like to hang out with my dog and cat and watch movies in bed. And drive around with my stereo blaring. It's good to be young.

Everything I Need to Know in Life...

Time for a weird blog entry courtesy of spending the last four hours stuck behind a counter at a bookstore that only stocks bestsellers and nothing much of interest at this point in my young life. Or at least, not today.

I've been thinking, as I peruse fan art, mostly bad fan art, by the way - there doesn't seem to be much respect towards fan art by anybody, not even the artists themselves - I've been thinking that gamers have got to be some of the weirdest people out there.

Okay. I am one. I… Continue

Short Spiritual Rant

I've been feeling a deep sense of frustration with the local spiritual community.

It seems that people fall into two types: one that wants someone to guide them and hold their hands whenever they feel the slightest confusion, and the other that takes advantage of this need for guidance and uses it as an opportunity to toot their own horns.

I do not feel that I am above or beyond or below anyone. I just think that it's time to take responsibility and take action for ourselves. If you want to le… Continue

Saturday!

Time for the traditional working-at-the-bookstore blog post!

Whee!

News? I'm sick of Christmas music. I'm sick of Christmas shopping. It's weekend, and I want outta here!

There's lots of snow here in Small Town, WY. I walked over here from my apartment behind the flower shop and my feet are still soaked. I'd say we got maybe six or so inches. It wasn't that cold today - I walked my dog without my coat zippe

On a More Positive Note

Here's a couple individuals I'd like to introduce.

This is Ash and Phoenix from my novel-in-progress, Star Crossed.

They can't wait to meet you.

Edge of Sanity

Kind of annoyed with the whole world this morning.

Yesterday was the day from hell. And to wrap it all up, one way
or another, I ended up getting locked out of my apartment. It was
11:30 PM and I was running a fever, and in my rather delirious state, I
just slept on the floor of the floral shop's showroom.

So here I am this morning. Haven't had a shower in three
days. Still enraged about my work and tempted to find a new
job. Pissed off about my living situation and still l… Continue

Just received your friend request in my Email. Hope things warm up for you way up North. I've lived in Anchorage, AK (11 years), St. Paul, MN (8years) so I'm no stranger to the cold.
I'm new/old at this Social Networking stuff, but have a wealth of experience with Computers. In my former life, when I was active as a design engineer, I worked with high end parametric design software and designed petrochemical systems for some of the larger Corporation here and overseas.
It's always good to make new friends.

Hey Shah!!

: o )

Week's end is still about getting my writer's voice established . . . I write Christian Fantasy and my debut novel will be released early 2008. I'm rockin the evolved woodland elves, drawfs, other fantasy must haves. . . along with a few boundrary pushing items.

You're rockin it yourself and your drawing is beautiful!! Keep in touch about writing :)

Understanding/ feelin ya on the RPG (I'm stuck on LOTR: Two Tower PS2- I mean stuck, been that way since I started gathering) and loving your Zelda and Link picture. Anime is also party fave. Man this is amazing!

InuYasha saved me so I'm always happy to see another fan of the 6 being team.

Thanks for coming by !!
